acetylsalicylic acid + ascorbic acid

acetylsalicylic acid + ascorbic acid is a fixed-dose combination drug containing acetylsalicylic acid (aspirin), an NSAID with analgesic, antipyretic, and anti-inflammatory properties, and ascorbic acid (vitamin C), an antioxidant. It is primarily used to treat pain, fever, inflammation, and to potentially minimize aspirin-induced gastric mucosal injury. Preclinical and human studies suggest that the combination has enhanced antitumor (anti-cancer) and neuroprotective effects relative to aspirin or vitamin C alone, attributed to additive antioxidant actions and modulation of receptor expression (notably NMDA and nicotinic acetylcholine receptors), oxidative stress markers, and potentially cyclooxygenase pathways.
