This is a combination of acetylsalicylic acid (aspirin) and terbutaline. When used together, these medications can increase the risk or severity of hypertension. Acetylsalicylic acid is a widely used medication for pain, fever, and inflammation, while terbutaline is a beta-adrenergic agonist bronchodilator used to treat asthma and bronchospasm caused by conditions like bronchitis or emphysema. Acetylsalicylic acid works by disrupting the production of prostaglandins throughout the body by targeting cyclooxygenase-1 (COX-1) and cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2), which helps relieve pain, reduce fever, and decrease inflammation. Terbutaline works by relaxing the muscles in the airways (bronchial tubes) in the lungs, making it easier to breathe. It belongs to a class of drugs called beta-adrenergic agonist bronchodilators and primarily affects beta-2 adrenergic receptors.
