Overview

ACG102 is a recombinant humanized monoclonal antibody that targets the CD40 receptor. It is being developed by Wuhan Aocheng Biotechnology in collaboration with Union Hospital of Tongji Medical College for the treatment of refractory active systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). By binding to CD40 on the surface of B cells and other antigen-presenting cells, ACG102 prevents the interaction with CD40 ligand (CD40L or CD154) expressed on activated T cells. This inhibition suppresses the costimulatory signaling pathway necessary for B cell activation, germinal center formation, and the production of pathogenic autoantibodies, which are key drivers of SLE. ACG102 is currently in Phase 1 clinical development, where it is administered intravenously to evaluate its safety, tolerability, and pharmacodynamic profile in patients with active disease.
