Overview

**ACH-2928** is a first-generation small molecule NS5A inhibitor developed for the treatment of chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection. It targets the nonstructural protein 5A (NS5A) of HCV, disrupting viral replication with high potency, achieving mean maximum reductions in HCV RNA of 3.68 log10 in Phase 1b proof-of-concept trials. Initially discovered and advanced to early clinical stages by Achillion Pharmaceuticals (later acquired by Alexion), the program was discontinued, with some preclinical work noted at Wuhan University of Technology.[1][3][4][5][11]
