Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ACI-19764 is a potent, brain-penetrant small molecule inhibitor of the NLRP3 inflammasome pathway, currently in preclinical development. It directly binds and inhibits NLRP3, a key mediator of neuroinflammation implicated in several neurological disorders. Preclinical studies have demonstrated its activity both in vitro and in vivo, showing promising results for sustained inhibition of NLRP3 within the brain and an excellent safety profile. The drug is being developed by AC Immune as part of their strategy to address neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, and multiple sclerosis by targeting inflammatory pathways[1][2][5][6].
