Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ACINIV CBZ is a fixed-dose combination medication containing aceclofenac and carbamazepine, developed and marketed by Vin Medicament. Aceclofenac is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that provides analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects by inhibiting the cyclooxygenase enzymes (COX-1 and COX-2), which are responsible for the synthesis of prostaglandins. Carbamazepine is an anticonvulsant and analgesic that stabilizes hyperexcited nerve membranes by blocking voltage-gated sodium channels, making it particularly effective for neuropathic pain conditions such as trigeminal neuralgia. This oral combination is indicated for the management of pain and inflammation, especially in cases where both inflammatory and neuropathic pain components are present.
