Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ACINIV-P is an oral fixed-dose combination medication developed and marketed by Vin Medicament, primarily indicated for the management of pain and inflammation. The product contains two active pharmaceutical ingredients: aceclofenac and paracetamol (acetaminophen). Aceclofenac is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that functions by inhibiting the cyclooxygenase enzymes (COX-1 and COX-2), which are responsible for the synthesis of inflammatory prostaglandins. Paracetamol serves as an analgesic and antipyretic agent, providing complementary pain relief through the inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis in the central nervous system. This combination is commonly utilized for the symptomatic treatment of acute painful conditions, including osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis.
