Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Acnano is a patented polyherbal nano-emulsion developed by Venus Medicine Research Centre (the R&D wing of Venus Remedies) for the topical treatment of mild to moderate as well as chronic acne vulgaris. Formulated using novel drug delivery system (NDDS) nanotechnology, Acnano is a synergistic blend of essential oils and citrus, containing tea tree oil (*Melaleuca alternifolia*), rosemary oil (*Rosmarinus officinalis*), mentha oil, and lemon juice (*Citrus limon*). The nano-emulsion features a particle pore size smaller than skin pores, facilitating rapid and deep skin penetration. It exerts potent antibacterial, antifungal, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant activities, demonstrating high efficacy against acne-causing pathogens such as *Cutibacterium acnes* (formerly *Propionibacterium acnes*), *Staphylococcus aureus*, and *Staphylococcus epidermidis*.
