Overview

Acnedin is a topical anti-acne gel product line developed and marketed by Daksh Pharmaceuticals. The product line includes two primary formulations: Acnedin, which contains 1% w/w clindamycin, and Acnedin-N, a combination product containing 1% w/w clindamycin and 4% w/w nicotinamide (Vitamin B3). Clindamycin is a lincosamide antibiotic that exerts its effect by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit of susceptible bacteria, such as *Propionibacterium acnes*, thereby inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis. Nicotinamide provides complementary anti-inflammatory action, helps reduce skin redness, and regulates sebum production. These formulations are indicated for the treatment of acne vulgaris and are approved for use in India.
