Acolbifene is a nonsteroidal selective estrogen receptor modulator (SERM) developed for the treatment and prevention of breast cancer. It acts by binding to estrogen receptor and modulating their activity, exhibiting tissue-selective effects—antagonistic in breast tissue and potentially agonistic or neutral in other tissues. Acolbifene has been investigated primarily for its potential to prevent or treat hormone-dependent breast cancer. The drug was developed by Endorecherche.
