Drug intelligence / Profile preview
KPC Chuan Wu (Zhi) is a traditional Chinese herbal product manufactured by KPC Herbs, consisting of the prepared main root of *Aconitum carmichaelii* (Sichuan aconite). The preparation process, known as 'zhi', is critical for reducing the concentration of toxic diterpene alkaloids, such as aconitine, mesaconitine, and hypaconitine, through hydrolysis into less toxic derivatives. In traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), it is classified as acrid, hot, and toxic, and is primarily used to dispel wind-dampness, warm the channels, and alleviate pain. It is commonly indicated for the treatment of 'Bi' syndrome (painful obstruction) characterized by severe joint pain, rheumatoid arthritis, and abdominal pain due to internal cold. Due to the presence of potent alkaloids that affect cardiac and neurological function, the product is intended for use under the supervision of licensed healthcare practitioners.
