Acridine-thiazolidinedione (AC-TZD), specifically compound 11, is a synthetic heterocyclic scaffold that has been investigated for its in vivo antidiabetic and antilipidemic effects. Studies have been conducted in an obesity-induced zebrafish model to assess its impact on glucose and triglyceride levels, insulin levels, and the expression of genes such as nuclear factor kappa beta (nfκβ), peroxisomal acyl-coenzyme A oxidase 1 (acox1), and acetyl-CoA carboxylase alpha (accα). As a thiazolidinedione derivative, it is expected to exert its effects, at least in part, through the activation of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma (PPARγ). In silico analyses have also been performed to evaluate its ADMET properties, physicochemical characteristics, and oral bioavailability.
