Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Actair (also known in Japan as Acitea) is a sublingual allergen immunotherapy tablet developed by Stallergenes Greer for the treatment of house dust mite-induced allergic rhinitis. The drug consists of a 50% mixture of allergen extracts from two prominent species of house dust mites: the European house dust mite (*Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus*) and the American house dust mite (*Dermatophagoides farinae*). Actair works by gradually exposing the patient's immune system to these allergens, which increases immunological tolerance, induces the production of allergen-specific IgG4 antibodies, and reduces allergic symptoms. Originally licensed to Shionogi in Japan, the marketing authorization and sales operations for Actair in Japan were transferred to CEOLIA Pharma in late 2026/early 2027.
