Overview

ActHIB + DPT-TAKEDA is a combination vaccine consisting of two components: - **ActHIB** is a lyophilized Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib) conjugate vaccine. - **DPT-TAKEDA** refers to the Japanese commercial formulation of diphtheria and tetanus toxoids combined with an acellular pertussis component developed by Takeda. This combination is used to immunize children against four serious bacterial diseases: diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis (whooping cough), and invasive disease caused by Haemophilus influenzae type b. The mechanism of action involves stimulating the immune system to produce antibodies against each pathogen's key antigens—diphtheria toxin, tetanus toxin, Bordetella pertussis antigens, and Hib polysaccharide-protein conjugate—thereby providing protective immunity[3][5][6].
