Actifuse MIS is a synthetic bone graft substitute developed by Baxter International Inc., specifically designed for minimally invasive orthopedic procedures. It is a medical device composed of Actifuse ABX, a phase-pure, porous, silicate-substituted calcium phosphate (SiCaP) material containing 0.8% silicon by weight. The product is supplied as 1-2 mm granules suspended in an aqueous gel carrier, allowing for controlled delivery through a cannula. Actifuse MIS acts as an osteoconductive and osteostimulatory scaffold, promoting accelerated bone formation by enhancing local silicon levels. It is indicated for filling bone voids or gaps in the skeletal system, including the extremities, pelvis, and spine, and is intended to be resorbed and replaced by the patient's natural bone during the healing process.
