Overview

ActiGel is a bio-active vaginal gel used for the treatment and prevention of bacterial vaginosis (BV) and related vaginal discomforts such as discharge, odor, itching, and irritation. Developed by BioClin (now part of Karo Healthcare) and distributed by GyneBio Pharma in specific regions, the product's efficacy is based on the patented 2QR-complex. The 2QR-complex is a polysaccharide mixture derived from the leaf juice of *Aloe barbadensis* that functions through a physical mechanism of action. It binds to the adhesins on the surface of pathogenic bacteria, effectively neutralizing them and preventing their attachment to the vaginal mucosa. This process helps restore the natural balance of the vaginal flora by favoring the growth of beneficial lactobacilli without the use of traditional antibiotics.
