Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ACTIVA Kids is a bioactive restorative material specifically designed for pediatric dentistry. Developed by Pulpdent Corporation, it is a resin-modified glass ionomer (RMGI) and composite hybrid that features a patented bioactive rubberized resin matrix. Unlike traditional composites, it is moisture-friendly and chemically bonds to tooth structure. It is designed to mimic the physical and chemical properties of natural teeth by releasing and recharging calcium, phosphate, and fluoride ions. This bioactivity helps stimulate mineral apatite formation and provides a bioactive seal at the margins, which is particularly beneficial in preventing secondary caries in primary molars. It is primarily used for restorations in children where moisture control can be challenging.
