Activated autologous dendritic cells (LanZhou University) is an experimental personalized cancer vaccine and cell therapy being developed for the treatment of gastric cancer. The therapeutic process involves harvesting a patient's own dendritic cells (DCs) from peripheral blood and activating them in vitro using a cocktail of cytokines and proteins extracted from the patient's own tumor cell membranes. These activated DCs are then re-infused intravenously into the patient, typically as an adjuvant therapy following radical surgery. Once in the body, these professional antigen-presenting cells are intended to prime and activate the patient's T-cell population to recognize and eliminate residual tumor cells, thereby reducing the risk of recurrence and improving overall survival.
