Overview

Activated autologous T cells (ATC) is an experimental adoptive cell therapy being investigated by Dr. Jeremy Rudnick at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for the treatment of recurrent glioblastoma. The therapy involves the ex vivo activation and expansion of a patient's own T lymphocytes, which are then re-infused intravenously. This specific protocol targets antigens associated with glioma cancer stem cells (GCSCs), a subpopulation of tumor cells believed to be responsible for tumor initiation, progression, and resistance to conventional treatments. The primary objective of the ongoing Phase I study (NCT04003649) is to evaluate the safety and tolerability of the treatment and to determine the maximum tolerated dose in patients with recurrent glioblastoma.
