Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Carbosymag is a marketed oral combination drug developed by Laboratoires Grimberg for the treatment of gastrointestinal symptoms such as heartburn and bloating. The product utilizes a unique dual-capsule delivery system: a green capsule designed for gastric release and an orange enteric-coated capsule for intestinal release. Its active components include activated charcoal (an adsorbent for gases and toxins), heavy magnesium oxide (a gastric antacid), and simethicone (an anti-foaming agent). Carbosymag is approved in France for symptomatic relief of epigastric burning associated with meteorism and has been investigated in Phase 3 clinical trials for functional dyspepsia.
