activated protein C (KM Biologics)

Anact C is a plasma-derived human activated protein C (APC) concentrate developed by KM Biologics. It is primarily indicated for the treatment of patients with congenital protein C deficiency, a rare condition that predisposes individuals to severe thrombotic events such as purpura fulminans, deep vein thrombosis, and acute pulmonary thromboembolism. As a protein replacement therapy, Anact C provides the active form of protein C, a natural anticoagulant that regulates the coagulation cascade by inactivating factors Va and VIIIa. This inactivation limits the production of thrombin and prevents pathological clot formation. The drug is approved in Japan and is administered intravenously.
