Activomin

Activomin is a natural humic acid preparation, specifically containing the standardized WH67 humic acid extract derived from lignite (brown coal). Developed and manufactured by WH Pharmawerk Weinböhla GmbH, it is classified as a medical device in Germany rather than a conventional pharmaceutical drug. Activomin is primarily indicated for the treatment of gastrointestinal and metabolic disorders, including diarrhea-predominant irritable bowel syndrome (IBS-D), diarrheal diseases, and weakened immune defenses. Its mechanism of action involves the high-molecular-weight humic acids remaining largely unabsorbed in the gastrointestinal tract, where they act as an adsorbent to bind toxins, inflammatory mediators, and pathogens. Additionally, it is thought to modulate the colonic microbiome and support gut barrier function. The product is administered orally in capsule form and has been evaluated in randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trials for symptom improvement in patients with IBS.
