Actixicam

Actixicam is a topical medical device cream developed by Cantabria Labs Difa Cooper for the treatment and prevention of actinic keratosis (AK) and its recurrences. The formulation contains piroxicam 0.8%, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that acts as a non-selective cyclooxygenase (COX) inhibitor to reduce inflammation, redness, and itching. It also contains polyvinyl alcohol, which forms a non-occlusive protective barrier on the skin to promote hydration and cellular trophism, alongside chemical and physical sun filters providing very high sun protection (SPF 50+). Actixicam is applied twice daily to affected areas such as the face and scalp to treat hyperkeratosis and protect against further UV-induced photodamage.
