Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**ACUVUE Theravision with Ketotifen** is a combination product consisting of a daily disposable, soft hydrophilic contact lens made of etafilcon A, which delivers the antihistamine ketotifen directly to the eye. It is indicated for both correction of refractive ametropia (myopia and hyperopia) and the prevention of ocular itch due to allergic conjunctivitis in patients suitable for contact lens wear without red eyes and less than or equal to 1.00 diopter of astigmatism. The mechanism involves sustained topical delivery of ketotifen, a selective H1 antihistamine and mast cell stabilizer, from the lens matrix over at least 12 hours. This results in simultaneous vision correction and suppression of allergic ocular itching, offering a unique therapeutic option for allergic contact lens wearers[1][2][5].
