Overview

SanegeneBio's ACVR1C siRNA is a preclinical RNA interference (RNAi) therapeutic candidate being developed for the treatment of obesity and cardiometabolic diseases. The drug utilizes small interfering RNA (siRNA) to specifically target and silence the expression of the *ACVR1C* gene (Activin A receptor type 1C, also known as ALK7) in the liver. ACVR1C is a type I receptor for the TGF-beta superfamily that has been identified as a potential target for metabolic disorders due to its role in regulating adiposity and insulin sensitivity. By reducing ACVR1C levels, the therapy aims to improve metabolic profiles and facilitate weight loss. The program is currently in the lead identification and preclinical testing phase and is part of SanegeneBio's LEAD (Liver-targeting Efficient delivery of siRNA) platform.
