ACWYVax is a quadrivalent meningococcal polysaccharide vaccine designed to provide active immunization against invasive meningococcal disease caused by *Neisseria meningitidis* serogroups A, C, W, and Y. It functions by stimulating the body's immune system to produce specific antibodies against the capsular polysaccharides of these bacterial serogroups, thereby conferring protection against infections such as meningitis and sepsis. This vaccine was developed by GlaxoSmithKline and has been evaluated in clinical trials.
