ACYC vehicle

ACYC vehicle is the inactive topical gel formulation used as a placebo control in clinical trials for ACYC, which is the code name for Onexton Gel. Developed by Bausch Health, Onexton is a fixed-dose combination of clindamycin phosphate (1.2%) and benzoyl peroxide (3.75%) indicated for the treatment of acne vulgaris. The ACYC vehicle contains the same dermatological excipients as the active product but lacks the active antimicrobial and comedolytic ingredients. It is primarily utilized in Phase 3 clinical studies to demonstrate the superior efficacy of the active combination therapy over the gel base alone by providing a baseline for safety and tolerability comparisons.
