AD 337

AD 337 is a serotonin noradrenalin reuptake inhibitor (SNRI) developed as a novel enantiomer of an approved centrally acting non-opioid analgesic. It exhibits pharmacology comparable to other SNRIs that have shown promising results in treating fibromyalgia syndrome (FMS). AD 337 has demonstrated antidepressant and anxiolytic activity and is expected to have a low incidence of drug-drug interactions, which is desirable for this therapeutic class. The drug was developed by Sosei Group Corporation and entered Phase II clinical trials for the treatment of fibromyalgia syndrome, a condition characterized by widespread musculoskeletal pain with associated symptoms such as fatigue, sleep disturbance, and depression. The etiology of FMS involves dysfunction in serotonin (5-HT) and noradrenaline (NA) systems, which AD 337 targets through its SNRI mechanism[6].
