AD 452

AD 452 is an investigational small molecule drug that was developed for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis (RA). It was designed to potentially modify the underlying disease process in RA as well as improve symptoms. Clinical trials included a Phase IIb, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study assessing efficacy, safety, and tolerability in adults with active RA despite background methotrexate therapy. While AD 452 demonstrated a good safety profile and was well tolerated in earlier studies, it failed to meet primary or secondary efficacy endpoints in Phase IIb trials. As a result, development for RA has been discontinued[3][7][10].
