Ad-A-p50 is a preclinical adenoviral gene therapy vector designed to deliver an RNA aptamer (A-p50) that specifically binds to and inhibits the p50 subunit of nuclear factor-kappaB (NF-kappaB). Developed for the treatment of advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), it aims to overcome chemoresistance to agents like doxorubicin. By blocking NF-kappaB activation, Ad-A-p50 modulates the expression of genes involved in cell proliferation (Ki-67), DNA damage response (GADD153), and anti-apoptosis (Bcl-XL). It also interferes with angiogenesis by inhibiting the HIF-1alpha/VEGF pathway.
