Overview

Ad-GITR-L is a type of Glucocorticoid-induced TNF receptor (GITR) ligand fusion protein (GITRL-FP) that functions as an agonist of GITR. GITR is a co-stimulatory receptor belonging to the TNF receptor superfamily, expressed on various immune cells, particularly regulatory T cells (Tregs) and natural killer (NK) cells, and its expression is upregulated on activated T cells. By mimicking the natural GITR ligand (GITRL), Ad-GITR-L aims to stimulate GITR, thereby enhancing the activity of effector T-cells and inhibiting the suppressive function of Tregs. This dual mechanism promotes an anti-tumor immune response, making it a promising target for cancer immunotherapy. Preclinical studies have indicated that GITRL-FP can expand antigen-specific CD8 T cells, deplete Tregs, and generate long-lasting anti-tumor memory.
