Overview

Ad-hTRP2 is an experimental gene therapy drug based on an adenoviral vector encoding human TRP2 (tyrosinase-related protein 2), typically developed as a cancer immunotherapy for melanoma. The therapy works by delivering the hTRP2 gene via an adenovirus, stimulating an immune response against melanoma cells that express TRP2, thereby targeting and destroying tumor cells. The main mechanism of action is the induction of a tumor antigen-specific immune response, primarily via activation of cytotoxic T lymphocytes against TRP2-expressing cells. Literature indicates its use in early phase clinical or preclinical studies as a vaccine strategy in cancer immunotherapy.
