Overview

Ad-shIL-8 is a gene therapy agent consisting of an adenoviral vector engineered to deliver and express a short hairpin RNA (shRNA) targeting human interleukin-8 (IL-8). The drug works by silencing the expression of the IL-8 gene, a pro-inflammatory cytokine, thereby reducing IL-8 mediated inflammatory processes. This approach is primarily explored for the treatment of diseases where IL-8-driven inflammation or tumor microenvironment modulation plays a central role, such as certain cancers or inflammatory conditions.
