Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Ad26.RSV.preF** is an investigational, replication-incompetent adenovirus serotype 26 vector vaccine developed by Janssen that delivers a DNA transgene encoding the full-length respiratory syncytial virus fusion glycoprotein stabilized in its prefusion conformation. Intramuscular vaccination is intended to induce RSV preF-specific neutralizing antibodies and cellular immune responses for prevention of RSV respiratory disease. The vector component was evaluated alone in early-phase studies and was also used with a separate recombinant RSV preF protein component in later-stage adult vaccine regimens. Johnson & Johnson exited its investigational adult RSV vaccine program and discontinued the Phase 3 EVERGREEN study on March 29, 2023.
