Overview

AD3100 is a small molecule inhibitor of the chemokine receptor type 4 (CXCR4). It has been investigated in a Phase I clinical trial for its ability to activate immune reactions in cancer cells and tumor biopsies, particularly in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma and colorectal cancer. The drug's mechanism involves interrupting the CXCL-12/CXCR4 interaction, which is believed to exclude T cells from tumors, thereby potentially making adenocarcinomas responsive to anti-PD-1/anti-PD-L1 checkpoint therapy. While the small molecule inhibitor (CXCR4 inhibitor) is clinically approved for another condition related to releasing hematopoietic stem cells, AD3100's specific development is focused on oncology.
