Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Ad4-mgag is an investigational oral HIV vaccine candidate that uses a live, replication-competent adenovirus type 4 (Ad4) vector to deliver a mosaic HIV Gag antigen. The vaccine is designed to stimulate both humoral and cellular immune responses against HIV by presenting the Gag protein in a form that mimics natural infection. It has been evaluated in early-phase clinical trials for safety and immunogenicity in healthy, HIV-uninfected adults. The vaccine is administered orally via enteric-coated capsules or as an aqueous formulation[1][2][8]. Developed by Emergent BioSolutions, the approach leverages the ability of adenoviral vectors to induce strong mucosal and systemic immunity.
