Drug intelligence / Profile preview
AD5-10 is a monoclonal agonistic antibody targeting the tumor necrosis factor-related apoptosis-inducing ligand receptor 2 (TRAIL-R2), also known as Death Receptor 5 (DR5). By binding to DR5, AD5-10 mimics the action of the natural ligand TRAIL, triggering the extrinsic apoptotic pathway specifically in cancer cells. Research indicates that AD5-10 can resensitize ovarian cancer cells to TRAIL-mediated and NK-cell-mediated apoptosis, and exhibits synergistic effects when combined with chemotherapy agents like carboplatin. It has been primarily studied in the context of overcoming TRAIL resistance in ovarian cancer.
