Overview

Ad5-TRP2 is a replication-deficient recombinant adenovirus serotype 5 (Ad5) viral vector vaccine encoding Tyrosinase-Related Protein 2 (TRP2), also known as dopachrome tautomerase (DCT). TRP2 is a melanocyte differentiation antigen that is frequently overexpressed in melanoma. The vaccine is designed to induce antigen-specific CD8+ T-cell immune responses against TRP2-expressing tumor cells. It has been primarily used as a preclinical research tool, notably at Thomas Jefferson University (Snook Lab), to investigate tumor immunology and T-cell memory in murine melanoma models. A related variant, Ad5-Trp2-PADRE, incorporates a pan DR epitope to provide CD4+ T-cell help and enhance the durability of the immune response.
