ADA-1101

ADA-1101 (formerly ADA-01) is an innovative small-molecule antiviral candidate developed by Adamed Pharma for the treatment and post-exposure prophylaxis of influenza A and B virus infections. It functions as a potent inhibitor of the cap-dependent endonuclease (CEN) activity within the PA subunit of the viral RNA polymerase complex. By blocking this "cap-snatching" mechanism, which is essential for the initiation of viral mRNA synthesis, ADA-1101 effectively halts viral replication. This mechanism of action is distinct from that of neuraminidase inhibitors like oseltamivir, potentially offering efficacy against resistant strains and a broader therapeutic window.
