Overview

Adalimumab + hyaluronidase-qimx is a fixed-dose combination drug consisting of adalimumab, a recombinant human monoclonal antibody that targets and inhibits tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α), and hyaluronidase-qimx, an enzyme that increases tissue permeability by depolymerizing hyaluronic acid in the extracellular matrix. The addition of hyaluronidase facilitates the subcutaneous administration of larger volumes or higher concentrations of biologic drugs like adalimumab. Adalimumab is primarily used to treat various autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, hidradenitis suppurativa, uveitis, juvenile idiopathic arthritis, and chronic plaque psoriasis by reducing inflammation through TNF-α inhibition[1][2][3]. The combination with hyaluronidase aims to improve absorption or allow for less frequent dosing.
