Overview

Adalimumab-800CW is an investigational, near-infrared fluorescent tracer composed of the monoclonal antibody adalimumab conjugated to the fluorophore IRDye 800CW. It is designed for use in molecular fluorescence imaging to visualize and quantify the in vivo distribution of adalimumab in patients with inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis (RA), inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), and spondyloarthritis (SpA). The mechanism of action derives from its parent molecule, adalimumab, which is a fully human IgG1 monoclonal antibody that binds specifically to tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-alpha), neutralizing its bioactivity and inducing apoptosis in TNF-expressing mononuclear cells. Adalimumab-800CW enables real-time imaging using dedicated fluorescence systems, supporting research into drug distribution and target engagement within inflamed tissues[5][7].
