Japan Biotechno Pharma's adalimumab biosimilar is a recombinant human IgG1 monoclonal antibody designed to target and neutralize tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α). As a biosimilar of the reference product Humira, it works by binding specifically to soluble and membrane-bound TNF-α, thereby preventing the cytokine from interacting with its p55 and p75 cell surface receptors. This action downregulates the inflammatory cascade and the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines, which are central to the pathogenesis of autoimmune diseases.
