Overview

Adalix is an adalimumab biosimilar developed by Opal Bio Pharma, a biopharmaceutical company based in Oman. It is a monoclonal antibody designed to target and neutralize tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α), a key pro-inflammatory cytokine involved in the pathogenesis of various systemic inflammatory conditions. By binding to TNF-α, Adalix prevents it from interacting with the p55 and p75 cell surface TNF receptors, thereby downregulating the inflammatory cascade. It is indicated for the treatment of several autoimmune diseases, including rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, axial spondyloarthritis, plaque psoriasis, Crohn's disease, and ulcerative colitis. The product is formulated as a 40mg/0.4ml solution in a pre-filled syringe for subcutaneous administration, providing a more affordable alternative to the reference product, Humira.
