ADAM10 RNAi refers to RNA interference (RNAi) agents, such as small interfering RNAs (siRNAs) or short hairpin RNAs (shRNAs), designed to target and knock down the expression of A Disintegrin and Metalloproteinase Domain-containing Protein 10 (ADAM10). ADAM10 is a cell surface metalloprotease involved in the proteolytic shedding of various transmembrane proteins, including E-cadherin, CD44, and ligands/receptors of the EGFR and Notch signaling pathways. In preclinical research, ADAM10 RNAi is utilized to investigate the role of ADAM10 in cancer progression, showing that its downregulation inhibits cell proliferation, migration, and invasion in various malignancies, including breast cancer, hepatocellular carcinoma, and hypopharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma.
