ADAMTS-13 siRNA is a small interfering RNA (siRNA) designed to silence the expression of the ADAMTS-13 gene, which encodes a zinc-containing metalloprotease primarily known for cleaving von Willebrand factor. In preclinical oncology research, specifically glioblastoma, this siRNA is utilized to investigate the role of endogenous ADAMTS-13 in tumor development and vascular phenotype development. Knockdown of ADAMTS-13 using this siRNA has been shown to inhibit vasculogenic mimicry, cell proliferation, and migration in glioblastoma cell lines such as LN-229 and endothelial cells like HUVECs. Furthermore, the reduction of ADAMTS-13 levels is associated with a decrease in the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), suggesting that ADAMTS-13 may regulate tumor growth and angiogenic functions.
