Overview

ADB-103 is a gene therapy being developed by Adolore BioTherapeutics for the treatment of chronic pain, specifically osteoarthritis (OA) hip pain. It utilizes a novel, non-opioid gene therapy (ADLR-1001) based on replication-defective Herpes Simplex Virus (rdHSV) vectors to deliver CA8* (carbonic anhydrase-like analgesic peptides, CA8 variants). This therapy is designed to locally target peripheral sensory nerve fibers that are hyperexcitable due to sensitization and inflammation, aiming to provide pain relief.
