Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ADB115 is a small molecule therapeutic candidate being developed by Jiangsu Aidi Pharmaceutical (also known as Aidea Pharma) for the treatment of acute peritonitis. It functions as an antagonist of the P2X7 receptor (P2X7 purinoceptor), an ATP-gated ion channel that plays a critical role in the activation of the NLRP3 inflammasome and the subsequent release of pro-inflammatory cytokines such as IL-1β and IL-18. By inhibiting P2X7-mediated signaling, ADB115 is intended to mitigate the severe inflammatory response and tissue damage associated with peritonitis. The drug is currently in the IND-enabling (preclinical) stage of development.
