Overview

ADBPO is a topical combination gel developed and marketed by VTS Life Sciences for the treatment of moderate to severe acne vulgaris. It contains two active ingredients: adapalene (0.1% w/w), a third-generation retinoid, and benzoyl peroxide (2.5% w/w), an oxidizing agent with antibacterial and keratolytic properties. Adapalene works by modulating cellular differentiation and keratinization to prevent the formation of comedones, while benzoyl peroxide provides bactericidal activity against *Cutibacterium acnes* and helps exfoliate the skin by breaking down keratin. This synergistic combination targets multiple pathways of acne pathogenesis, including follicular hyperkeratosis and bacterial proliferation, and is typically used to reduce acne lesions such as pimples, whiteheads, and blackheads.
