Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ADC119 is an investigational, oral, once-daily, single-tablet fixed-dose combination regimen being developed by Jiangsu Aidea Pharmaceutical for the treatment of antiretroviral-naïve adult patients with HIV-1 infection. The formulation combines three active antiretroviral agents: ainuovirine, a novel third-generation non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NNRTI) developed in China, alongside two nucleoside/nucleotide reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NRTIs), emtricitabine and tenofovir alafenamide. Mechanistically, the combination targets the HIV-1 reverse transcriptase enzyme, blocking the transcription of viral RNA into DNA and thereby suppressing viral replication. By combining an NNRTI with a dual-NRTI backbone in a single tablet, ADC119 aims to simplify treatment regimens, improve patient adherence, and reduce the risk of viral resistance.
