AdCA-AP

AdCA-AP is an **adenovirus-based gene transfer vector** used as a negative control in preclinical studies of gene therapy for cancer, particularly pancreatic cancer. In referenced studies, AdCA-AP was injected into tumors or body cavities (for instance, peritoneal space) in animal models, where it served as a control for assessing the antitumor efficacy of other adenoviral vectors expressing therapeutic genes such as interferon alpha. AdCA-AP does not contain a therapeutic gene payload and thus is biologically inert with regard to tumor suppression, serving chiefly as a baseline comparator in experiments employing recombinant adenoviruses.
